Alain looks back over the 2001/02 season -

1. Looking back on last season how have you managed to cope with the highs and lows that you have gone through?
By getting out there and following my normal training routine. I've just tried to block out all the stuff that has happened and get on with pre-season training as always.

2. What is your strongest memory of last season?
It has to be the Olympics of course. It's a shame that that's now all been taken away from me but it's still a fantastic memory.

3. How did it feel when you realised you had become the first Briton ever to win an Olympic medal on snow?
It was more a feeling of relief. Like I had eventually done it after all the years of hard work. It was something that I'd always aimed for and I felt like everything had finally paid off.

4. How have you dealt with all the attention from the media?
It's all been a bit much at times. Straight after the Olympics I had a 3 day boom where everyone wanted to talk to me. I didn't have any time to catch up with my mates I was so busy doing interviews. Then after the announcement that I had failed the doping test there was another 3 or 4 day boom. Luckily the press were mostly fine with me and seemed to believe and understand what I was telling them.

5. How did you feel about the support you got from fans on the website?
That's what kept me going. Along with my friends and family, the website really helped me through. I was in Norway at the time and was away from the centre of it all. I knew what was going on from the news but when I clicked on my website and saw I had hundreds of messages I couldn't believe it.

6. Apart from the Olympics, how do you feel about your results from last season?
It was tough at the start, I felt like I had so much expectation on my shoulders. I just had to brush aside any problems and get on with it. I had difficulties with my equipment but I just had to deal with them and try to move ahead. I messed up about 5 or 6 races but then things began to get sorted out and the season got better and better. It's just a shame that the season wasn't longer.

7. Have you resolved the equipment problems that held you back for much of last season?
It looks like it. I've been testing lots of equipment and am now back on track. I'll be staying with Head this season.
