Custom Ski Boot Fitting

Now in our third year of business, Alain Baxter Sports has developed both its ski boot range but also foot bed availability. Alain raced on the European and world Ski circuit for 20 years and participated in three Olympics, so it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about ski boots.
Alain will personally help guide you in the understanding and choice of boot your require in relation to your ski ability. He takes the time to understand exactly what you are looking for, and if he feels that the boots on the shelf are not right for you, he will order a boot that will complete the package you require, including skis. In his open plan workshop, you can watch Alain build your boots using the same techniques used on th World Cup Circuit. These include:
- Shell Shaping
- Laser Alignment
- Boot Sole Planning
- Upper and Lower Cuff Alignment
Alain is qualified by the Master Fit University in foot bed design and build, and having spent the last 20 years having his boots fitted by World Cup service men, it has given him extensive knowledge and hands on experience, so much so that Head Race Team asked Alain in 2013 to work in Austria in the race factory fitting the Head World Cup team, for the winter of 2013-2014. Alain built the boots for Bode Miller, Ted Ligety and the rest of the Head race team.
Alain’s experience has allowed him to work with various professional skiers and teams including several BASI trainers & instructors the Scottish Alpine Ski Team, the England Alpine Ski Team and members of the GB Alpine Ski Team. In 2013 he worked with Freestyle GB World Champion, Woodsy and custom fitted his boots to give him a more secure fit, for landing off kickers!
